Type: Information
Symptoms
When you change the global setting site.File_Path and restarts the web site from
the web properties dialog an error message occurs. This error probably is one of
the following:
Number | Description |
52 |
Bad file name or number |
75 | Path/File Access error |
76 |
Path not found |
In Content Studio 4.0 build 1009 and earlier the description text was omitted (see the article Restart web site generates displays an alert with a number only.)
Cause
You will get one of the errors above if you deliberately or accidentally change
the setting site.File_Path global setting to an illegal value. This setting determines
where in the underlying file system the site files are located and should not be
changed from the Content Studio interface. An administrator can change this value
under 3 circumstances only.
#1 There is a need to move the site's file system to another location on the machine.
#2 After that you have restored the site to a new web server you might need to specify another file location.
#2 After that you have restored the site to a new web server you might need to specify another file location.
#3 After renaming the site root catalogue or another catalogue above it.
Resolution
Change the value of the setting mentioned above to the correct value and restart
the web site again.
Status
In Content Studio 4.0 build 1010 this setting will be read only in the user interface
to prevent administrators accidentally from changing this setting.
